Worthbound Post-MVP Archetype Reserve

Canonical Production/System File
Version: 0.1
Authority Level: Production
Depends On:

  • 03-Archetypes/00-Archetype-Overview.md
  • 03-Archetypes/90-MVP-Archetype-Set.md

This file defines the archetypes that remain in full canon but are not part of the mobile-first MVP playable roster.

Its purpose is to:

  • preserve long-term archetype design continuity
  • prevent premature implementation of non-MVP archetypes
  • clarify what is deferred rather than abandoned
  • reduce future confusion about scope boundaries

The following archetypes are canonical but not MVP-playable:

  1. Service Worker
  2. Public Servant

These archetypes remain part of Worthbound’s broader design frame.

These archetypes are reserved because the current MVP already captures the highest-value contrast set through the four playable archetypes.

The reserve archetypes are deferred to protect:

  • balancing focus
  • content efficiency
  • mobile readability
  • implementation speed
  • time to first strong playable build

They are not cut from canon.
They are postponed from the first release.

Adds the leanest margin-management lane.

It deepens the low-income discipline fantasy and sharpens the game’s teaching around thin-margin compounding and survival under narrow surplus. :contentReference[oaicite:6]{index="6"}

Its strategic role is meaningful, but the current MVP already has enough low-to-mid structure through Skilled Worker.

Adds the strongest security-first lane.

It deepens the security-versus-growth tension and creates a distinct mastery story around benefit stability and patient ownership. :contentReference[oaicite:7]{index="7"}

Its design space is valuable, but the current MVP already has sufficient stability contrast through Professional.

Reserve archetypes may be:

  • documented
  • discussed
  • balance-tracked
  • kept in long-term canon

Reserve archetypes should not:

  • expand current MVP UI complexity
  • expand current MVP content requirements
  • create hidden tuning burden
  • delay implementation of the four locked MVP archetypes

A reserve archetype should only be promoted into a playable archetype when all of the following are true:

  1. The four MVP archetypes are stable.
  2. The one-board mobile loop is proven.
  3. The economy model is tuned enough to support a wider archetype set.
  4. The added archetype increases strategic variety without damaging readability.
  5. The implementation cost is justified by real product value.

Until then, reserve means reserve.

The Worthbound reserve archetypes are:

  • Service Worker
  • Public Servant

They remain canonical, but they are not part of the mobile-first MVP playable set.
